Mechanical, thermal and flammability properties of glass fiber film/silica aerogel composites

Glass fiber films reinforced flexible aerogel composites were successfully prepared. The effect of H2O/TEOS molar ratios on physical properties of the GF/aerogel composites was studied. The flexibility of the GF/aerogel composites was great improved without compromising thermal insulation properties. The fire hazard of the GF/aerogel composites decreased with increasing water content.
