This study is the first to combine PVA knitted fabrics and porous PVA hydrogels for use as vascular grafts. The hydrogel sections show a porous structure with interconnected pores. The combination of knitted fabrics and hydrogels without separation is satisfactory. With a greater compliance than that of commercially available vascular grafts, tubular PVA composites have a match with the compliance of native vessels.
