We identified a rice Chl-deficient mutant caused by mutants in OsAld-Y that encodes a fructose-1,6-bisphosphate aldolase.
Reduced expression of OsAld-Y affected the accumulation of sugar intermediates.
Subcellular localization analysis demonstrated that OsAld-Y was localized to peroxisome which provides a novel insight into the mechanism underlying Chl biosynthesis.
