Ablation of ACBP in mice alters the lipidome of liver, plasma and skeletal muscle. Lipid molecules containing an 18:1 acyl moiety are increased in ACBP−/− mice. ACBP function is important for whole-body lipid homeostasis in mice during weaning. Perturbations of systemic lipid metabolism are normalized as ACBP−/− mice get older.
