Metabolite fingerprinting of Punica granatum L. (pomegranate) polyphenols by means of high-performance liquid chromatography with diode array and electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry detection
A new HPLC method for the fingerprinting of pomegranate polyphenols is proposed. The fused-core stationary phase remarkably improved the HPLC performance. Thirty-one compounds were identified in the juice and fifty-one in the peel. The method was found to be in agreement with the requirements of ICH guidelines. The chemical characterization of eighteen pomegranate samples was performed.
