In Conceptual Design, traditional functional decomposition only depends on theoretical knowledge and experience in the design of individual designers, so the result is uncertainty of functional decomposition. It will have an effect on the final result of product design. The physics is an important internationally recognized natural science, which is a discipline that has strongly normative mathematical expressions. If we can apply the physical law in the functional decomposition, that will make the functional decomposition more specification and effectiveness. So we can combine with functional decomposition and the physics law, and use physical law for functional decomposition to analysis, judgment, argument. We also utilize the physics law to functional technical solution. Finally, the above method is applied for conception design of the machine of weighing and sorting pole pieces to functional decomposition, functional analysis, even solution procedure, that to verify the feasibility of this method.
