Detailed 40Ar/39Ar study of Main Central Thrust zone, Sikkim Himalaya.

> 600 °C temperatures for timescales > 5 Ma are required to yield cooling ages consistent with diffusive loss.

Diffusion modelling results suggest the MCT rocks cooled at a rate of ~ 50–80 °C Ma− 1.

Simultaneous exhumation on MCT and STD in Sikkim Himalaya at ~ 13 Ma.
