Effect of organic loading rate on dark fermentative hydrogen production in the continuous stirred tank reactor and continuous mixed immobilized sludge reactor from waste pastry hydrolysate

Hydrogen production from waste pastry hydrolysate was performed in the CSTR and CMISR.

The optimal hydrogen production rate of 277.76 mL/(h L) was obtained in the CSTR.

The maximum hydrogen production rate of CMISR was 320.2 mL/(h L)

One gram waste pastry could be converted to 91.66 mL hydrogen in the CSTR.

This is the first study which reports hydrogen production from waste pastry.
