The polarity of PUF was modified by attaching halogen atoms to the surface. The sorption performances were investigated by batch and column experiments. X-PUFs possess highest sorption capacity for Bi, Co, Fe and Mo ions than PUF. The processes of metal extraction/recovery using X-PUFs are very fast. X-PUF could be successfully regenerated and reused.
