The evaluation index of health status of China's residents should be the prevalence of non-communicable diseases from now on. China should change the health care model, from disease treatment to disease prevention. China should attach great importance to the prevention and control of non communicable diseases. The disease prevention is the short board in building ‘healthy China’, which could be strengthened.
