Core-shell nanowires were prepared by combination of RF sputtering and MOVPE growth. GaP nanowires were fully embedded into ZnO nanostructured layer and compact ZnO/GaP antireflection layers was created. Nanoindentation measurements indicated that the micro-hardness of the compact ZnO/GaP NW layer was higher than that of the pure ZnO layer.
