WC-CoCr, Cr3C2-NiCr and Al2O3 coatings were deposited on AA5083 via cold spray. As-received 5083 and coated specimens were subjected to slurry erosion testing. The WC-CoCr coating demonstrated an average hardness increase of 400% over AA5083. Mass and volume loss was measured following 20-min exposure to the slurry. The Al2O3 coating exhibited the greatest volume loss of all the examined specimens.
