A BEM formulation for steady state heat conduction in heat exchanger tubes is proposed. In the first case, the steady state heat conduction is calculated for tubes bounded by isothermal inner and outer surfaces. In the second case, the steady state heat conduction is investigated for tubes bounded by isothermal inner surface and convective outer surface. Another pre-existing method named boundary collocation method (BCM) is used to solve the considered problems in the above two cases. The conduction shape factors of BEM and BCM are compared and excellent agreement is established. The comparison of heat transfer in the second case obtained by BEM and Fluent is shown.
