The wettability of the carbonate surface during smart water injection were studied. The effect of NaCl, KCl, CaCl2 and MgCl2 as a function of salinity were examined. The wettability alteration follows the order of: KCl ≥ DW > NaCl > MgCl2 > CaCl2. The monovalent cation bonded to the chloride anion showed better performance. NaCl and KCl as a function of concentration showed different wettability behavior.
