This new EEG protocol probes 8 cognitive functions within a single 1.5 h session. It allows a complete neuropsychological evaluation only based on brain activity. It increases sensitivity in detecting both low-level and high-level functions in patients. Only the high-level functions distinguish minimally conscious from vegetative states. Multidimensional EEG testing is feasible in patients and can improve evaluation.
