A time-of-use conscious control strategy for HGSHP systems is proposed. Auxiliary cooling system is proactively used to pre-cool the system bore-field. A declining power consumption and cost trend occurs for longer pre-cool durations. A reduction in peak power consumption and carbon emissions is observed. Shoulder season schedules indicate the greatest potential for all proposed cases.
