Expanded craters overlying double-layered ejecta (DLE) suggest shallow excess ice. “Excess ice” means that there is more than just pore-filling ice. Our study reveals more expanded craters implying more excess ice on the inner ejecta. We discuss potential origins for this ice, which is common in DLE craters.
