EDOT as a new central unit for the synthesis of bent-core liquid crystals Several new bent-core liquid crystals are designed and synthesized. Compounds were characterized using POM, DSC, TGA, XRD and Raman spectroscopy. Wide temperature range nematic phase was observed in these compounds.
