SnOx/Zn2SnO4 composite photocatalyst was prepared by a one-pot hydrothermal method.

SnOx refers to SnO2 accompanied by trace amount of Sn2O3.

A type-II heterojunction is formed between SnOx and Zn2SnO4.

The heterojunction leads to a wide separation of e and h+.

SnOx/Zn2SnO4 shows high activity for the degradation of MO and gaseous benzene.
