Study on relationship between sintering atmosphere and dielectric properties for Bi2O3–ZnO–Ta2O5 system

The effect of sintering atmosphere on the structure and dielectric properties of Bi2O3–ZnO–Ta2O5 (BZT) system material has been investigated. The study shows that the sintering atmosphere has little effect on the phase structure for Bi2O3–ZnO–Ta2O5 system; the dielectric constants of the samples sintered in N2 are larger than those sintering in air; the dielectric loss at low frequency increases and the microwave quality factor (Qf) decreases when sintered in N2. Furthermore, the temperature dependence of dielectric constant decreases subtly when sintered in N2.
