Numerical simulation and experiment of gas-solid two phase flow and ash deposition on a novel heat transfer surface

A rhombic heating surface is presented and simulated to reduce ash deposition. Simulated and experimental results of deposition are analyzed and compared. Increasing gas velocity leads to higher deposition ratio for small particles. 36.53–96.95% impaction occurs in region 1 which occupies 10.41% area of surface. The rhombic surface could enhance heat transfer and reduce ash accumulation.
