Zn plays a role in methotrexate-induced testicular damage. Zn supplementation protects the testes and epididymis by maintaining the Zn levels. MTX alters the level of various proteins in testes and epididymis like Nm23-H5, SOD, catalase, GPX4 and GPX5. SOD1 inhibition further aggravates MTX-induced germ cell toxicity.
