A PKS1 gene and a NPG1 gene from A. melanogenum XJ5-1 were cloned and characterized. The PKS1 gene and the NPG1 gene were related with the melanin biosynthesis The PKS activity was determined by the PPTase encoded by the NPG1 gene.
