This paper presents the simultaneously optimal design of passive filters and distributed generation (DGs) in distribution system.

The objective is to minimize the power loss, the total harmonic distortion (THD) and the investment cost of PPFs and DGs simultaneously.

The bacterial foraging optimization (BFO) and its adaptive version is used for optimization this research.
