The effect of viscosity on gas holdup, flow regime transition and bubble size distributions has been studied. The relation between gas holdup, flow regime transition and bubble size distributions has been studied. The dual effect of viscosity has been observed and analyzed. Experimental data of bubble size distribution and aspect ratios are obtained for different Morton numbers. A correlation between Eotvos number and the aspect ratio is obtained for the different Morton numbers.
