Comprehensive review of the development of the European buckling curves European buckling curves are reestablished using non-linear FE-modelling. Imperfections and residual stress distributions are discussed and compared. It is shown that the Eurocode equivalent imperfections are very conservative. An Ayrton-Perry imperfection is suggested to adjust for the steel grade influence.
