MCT1, CD147, PDK4 and DMRT3 are candidate genes for performance in athletic horses We investigated SNPs of MCT1, CD147, PDK4, and DMRT3 in Arabian and Quarter Horses The A alleles from the MCT1 and CD147 were essentially fixed in Arabian and Quarter Horses Almost all the animals were homozygous CC for the DMRT3 polymorphism Arabians showed greater frequency of the G allele than Quarter Horses for PDK4 SNP
