Scuffing resistance depends on surface hardness and friction coefficient. FPB increases the surface hardness and reduces the friction coefficient. PIP reduces friction coefficient by producing a Sn film on the sample surface. Scuffing resistance is improved by both FPB and PIP treatment. FPB and PIP hybrid treatment further improves the scuffing resistance.
