Pressure losses and interfacial drag in coarse-particle beds are investigated. Pressure losses in coarse-particle beds show a down-up trend with gas velocity. Decrease of pressure losses in coarse-particle beds results from interfacial drag. Proportions of interfacial drag in pressure losses rise with particle size. Interfacial drag should be considered in analysis models for coarse-particle beds.
