Azimuthal anisotropy of charged jet production in Pb-Pb collisions

The contribution of the azimuthal anisotropy of the underlying event is taken into account event-by-event. The remaining (statistical) region-to-region fluctuations are removed on an ensemble basis by unfolding the jet spectra for different event plane orientations independently. Significant non-zero pan id="mmlsi3" class="mathmlsrc">pii=S0370269315009958&_rdoc=1&_issn=03702693&md5=a502abb3ef571b344332c237a661101d">View the MathML sourcepxl.gif" data-inlimgeid="1-s2.0-S0370269315009958-si3.gif">pt>View the MathML sourcep://origin-ars.els-cdn.com/content/image/1-s2.0-S0370269315009958-si3.gif">pt>pan class="mathContainer hidden">pan class="mathCode">p>v2ch jetp>pan>pan>pan> is observed in semi-central collisions (30–50% centrality) for pan id="mmlsi6" class="mathmlsrc">pii=S0370269315009958&_rdoc=1&_issn=03702693&md5=2fa6848d63c95add4d7a510e3f1234bd">View the MathML sourcepxl.gif" data-inlimgeid="1-s2.0-S0370269315009958-si6.gif">pt>View the MathML sourcep://origin-ars.els-cdn.com/content/image/1-s2.0-S0370269315009958-si6.gif">pt>pan class="mathContainer hidden">pan class="mathCode">20<p>pTch jetp><90 GeV/cpan>pan>pan>. The azimuthal dependence of the charged jet production is similar to the dependence observed for jets comprising both charged and neutral fragments, and compatible with measurements of the pan id="mmlsi7" class="mathmlsrc">pan class="formulatext stixSupport mathImg" data-mathURL="/science?_ob=MathURL&_method=retrieve&_eid=1-s2.0-S0370269315009958&_mathId=si7.gif&_user=111111111&_pii=S0370269315009958&_rdoc=1&_issn=03702693&md5=944f8b730bcac9bffb264c63b0082d73" title="Click to view the MathML source">v2pan>pan class="mathContainer hidden">pan class="mathCode">v2pan>pan>pan> of single charged particles at high pan id="mmlsi8" class="mathmlsrc">pan class="formulatext stixSupport mathImg" data-mathURL="/science?_ob=MathURL&_method=retrieve&_eid=1-s2.0-S0370269315009958&_mathId=si8.gif&_user=111111111&_pii=S0370269315009958&_rdoc=1&_issn=03702693&md5=d326eba5bc19e18321ee2db7aae3cd7f" title="Click to view the MathML source">pTpan>pan class="mathContainer hidden">pan class="mathCode">pTpan>pan>pan>. Good agreement between the data and predictions from JEWEL, an event generator simulating parton shower evolution in the presence of a dense QCD medium, is found in semi-central collisions.
