I explore how a large earthquake in Indonesia affected local labor markets. I find that labor market outcomes are remarkably resilient against such large shocks. The earthquake positively affected wage growth for workers who were employed in the agricultural sector at baseline. The positive wage growth effects are not limited to a particular education level or gender. The main mechanism is a downward shift of labor supply in the agricultural sector.
