A nonlinear homogenization procedure is proposed to take account of the spatial distribution of inhomogeneities. The correlation among inhomogeneities is defined by the so-called ellipsoidal microstructure. Linear and nonlinear results have been written in terms of two Eshelby tensors describing particles shape and correlation, respectively. While the linear result corresponds to the well-known Ponte Castañeda–Willis estimate, we propose new formulae for the second and third order nonlinear behavior.
