Rhombic, cubic, truncated-cubic and truncated-octahedral TiC/C single crystals were synthesized in different atmospheres. The energetic ions (H+ and Ar+) within the arc-flame greatly influence the growth of TiC seeds. The TiC/C nanocrystals were used to degrade 2,4-dichlorophenol through electrocatalysis.
