PCEs up to 7.29% and 8.67% for PBDTTT-C and PTB7-Th based devices are achieved by using solution-processed IL as the CIL. Alkyl chain-ILs offer higher FF and PCE than aromatic-substituted due to the more balanced electron and hole mobility. One should take the substitution effect into account when choosing a CIL from a large library of materials.
