Functionalized dextran-coated SPIO nanoparticle ferrofluid. SPIO functionalized with the red-autofluorescing drug doxorubicin and green-fluorescent FITC tracker. This engineered nanoparticle enables a >20 fold rapid entry and release of the drug in human pancreatic cancer cells. This functionalized SPIO holds therapeutic potential as an advanced drug delivery platform.
