Thermal physiology of native (cold-) and non-native (warm-climate) pumpkinseed are compared. Native populations have higher routine metabolism at seasonally high temperatures. Non-native populations have a higher critical thermal maximum at 30 °C. No significant difference in growth rates among native and non-native populations. The physiology of non-native fish appears to be better suited to the warmer non-native climate.
