We illustrate the complexity of estimating insect exposure temperatures on a body. Estimating the temperatures of bodies exposed to direct sunlight is problematic. Loggers should be placed at crime scenes with caution; further research is needed. A logger shelter seems to be advantageous only with direct exposure to sunlight. Loggers should be placed on site in as similar a position as possible to the body.
