Os-isotopes are reported for terrestrial occurrences of native-Fe in mafic rocks. Native-Fe in mafic rocks is accounted for by 1–7% assimilation of C-rich sediment. Assimilation does not explain C-isotope excursions of the P–T mass extinction.
