Carbamate ionic liquid synthesized from CO2 and dipropylamine for curcumin extraction. The ionic liquid used for rapid room temperature extraction of curcumin from turmeric. Enzymatic pretreatment of turmeric before extraction improves extraction yield by 60%. FTIR, UV–vis and HNMR analyses approved selective extraction and purification of curcumin.
