Woody biomasses from five fast-growth plantations were studied using TGA and devolatilisation analyses. The relationships between TGA parameters with cellulose, lignin, ash and extractives were established. TGA and devolatilisation characteristics differed among the woody biomasses analysed. Extractives presented a positive influence on devolatilisation rate of biomass degradation.
