Biomass waste in Zambia emits 2302 Gg CO2 eq of non-CO2 emissions per annum. Biogas production can conserve 10.38 Mtonnes N and 13.23 Mtonnes biomass every year. Biogas production can result in 290,000 tons of organic fertilizer every year. Biogas production could result in saving US$1 million per day opportunity cost.
