Donor-Acceptor substituted two chalcone derivatives were prepared and were structurally characterized by single crystal XRD. Both chalcones exhibited two-photon absorption and self-defocusing behavior at 532 nm. The molecules possess optical limiting properties. χ(3) is of the order of 10−6 esu in the CW regime.
