Sulfur poisoning leads to the loss of available active oxygen species. The sulfation of Pt/CM inhibits the formation of surface NOx intermediates. The sulfate formation weakens the acceleration on the desorption of surface active oxygen generating from nitrate decomposition. Sulfur poisoning affects the production of oxygen vacant sites and the mobility of surface oxygen species.
