Analysis of AFLP diversity of C. difficile PCR ribotype 078/126 isolates from Spain. Human and animal isolates were found to be genetically related. Extensive genetic diversity was found among isolates displaying resistance to some antimicrobials of widespread use. Human origin was associated with resistance to ertapenem, erythromycin and moxifloxacin.
