A stable COFs-based MMMs was applied in water purification for the first time. Various synthetic approaches endow COFs with distinct physico-chemical properties. MMMs with different TpPa-2 incorporation exhibited different separation performance. TpPa-2(MW)-incorporated MMMs featured both improved water flux and rejection. Break the trade-off between permeability and selectivity for a polymer membrane.
