Ag nanoparticles in soda-lime glass grown by continuous wave laser irradiation as an efficient SERS platform for pesticides detection

A method to achieve an efficient SERS substrate, which consists of a glass embedded with silver nanoparticles, is demonstrated. The SERS detection limit of our system obtained with Rhodamine6G as test solution is 10−7 M. The detrimental influence of oxidation of silver nanoparticles on the SERS sensitivity is avoided by appropriate thermal treatment at 200 °C in the air.
