A plant based alternative for gelatin in hard capsule industry. A composite film based on dually modified sago starch and κ-carrageenan. The composite film has similar properties to those of bovine gelatin film. WVP of proposed system is significantly lower than gelatin. The composite film was more stable at higher relative humidity than gelatin film
