UNPs are modeled by the phenomenological generalized hydrodynamic equations. The derivative expansion method has been employed in order to derive a modified-NLSE. A suitable transformation is used to transform the modified-NLSE into the standard NLSE. The effect of the ion viscosity on the modulational instability and rogue waves is investigated.
