Current forms of permanent ventricular pacing have some limitations including pacing-induced cardiomyopathy and increased incidence of atrial fibrillation. Permanent His bundle pacing has been shown to be safe and feasible as an alternative form of pacing in limited studies. Permanent His bundle pacing offers the hope of overcoming limitations of current pacing techniques.
