Antibacterial effects of pomegranate extracts against Salmonella enterica serovars Kentucky and Enteritidis are reported Peels pomegranate extract showed that the highest antibacterial activity against Salmonella strains. Treatment of chicken meat by peels pomegranate extract significantly inhibited the growth of Salmonella Kentucky. Detection and characterization of various anthocyanins, ellagitannins, ellagic acid derivatives and flavanols.
